Lantiq’s Voice Chip Qualified for Intel PUMA 6 Powered Cable Gateways

Lantiq announced that its DUSLIC-xT voice line solution is now qualified for integration in cable gateways based on the Intel PUMA 6 SoC. Specifically, the DUSLIC-xT driver has been integrated into the Intel Cable Software Development Kit (SDK) and Lantiq’s Telephony Interface Daughter (TID) card reference design has been tested for compatibility with Puma 6 platforms.

Cable gateway suppliers can use the reference design or work directly with Lantiq to integrate the DUSLIC-xT into their system designs based on Intel Puma 6 an Intel® Atom™ based, DOCSIS 3.0 compliant SoC which can reach up to 1.2 Gbps downstream by bonding up to 24 DOCSIS channels and up to 240 Mbps upstream by bonding up to 8 DOCSIS return channels.

DUSLIC-xT is a single package CODEC/SLIC that provides all necessary functions for single or dual voice line termination at the customer premise. It is a cost and footprint optimized solution for implementation of the FXS (Foreign Exchange Subscriber) interface required to support analog fixed line phone service.
