TAIPEI, Taiwan — Infortrend announced the release of EonStor DS 1024B RAID systems. Featuring a high density small form factor (SFF), the systems accommodate 2.5” drives to reduce space and energy requirements. They join the EonStor DS 1000 series, which brings enterprise features at entry-level prices aimed at SMBs.

EonStor DS 1024B systems feature 24 bays for 2.5” drives, resulting in high density that meets the global trend towards more storage at lower space and energy requirements, a demand especially felt by SMBs. Based on energy-efficient 2.5” drives, EonStor DS 1024B models pack 432TB per array with added expansion enclosures (also for 2.5” drives), consume less power during operation, run cooler, and take up less space than comparable 3.5” systems.

EonStor DS 1024B systems support advanced enterprise-class data services not typically addressed by storage in their price segment. Services include optional 4-tier automated storage tiering to leverage SSD performance and better utilize capacity based on data and application importance.

For enhanced security, systems support self-encrypting drives (SED) and remote replication disaster recovery. Snapshot, volume copy/mirror, thin provisioning and other services are included by default.

“Our successful EonStor DS 1000 series shows there is great demand for affordable enterprise storage, and the next step is high density SFF offerings. Like all models in the series, these support diverse enterprise-class data services that were traditionally beyond the reach of many SMBs”, commented Thomas Kao, Senior Director of Product Planning at Infortrend.
