Kinpo Group to Collaborate with Intel in RealSense Technology

TAIPEI, Taiwan — XYZprinting, a 3D printers developer, that is backed by world's leading electronic manufacturing conglomerate Kinpo Group, the company's Chairperson Simon Shen said that one of their goals in 2015 is to team up with Intel in RealSense technology.

According to Intel, the RealSense technology takes perceptual computing to the next level by understanding sensory input and movement-supported platforms. Intel is going to apply this kind of 3D camera technology to NB and tablet, also to work with Kinpo Group regarding to transfer the 3D photos into 3D printing figure files.

“One of the challenges in 3D printing industry is lacking the proper figure files for downloading, users also have limited knowledge and technology to make their own 3D figure files.” said Simon Shen.

Kinpo Group set out a goal to be the top 3D printers provider in Taiwan, Simon Shen revealed that the company will collaborate more closely with Intel in this year, one of the missions is to use Intel's 3D camera technology as their 3D printers' input terminal.

Intel unveiled its RealSense depth-sensing cameras at CES 2015. The cameras sport three lenses, a standard 2D camera for photos and videos, an infrared camera, and an infrared laser projector. The infrared lenses let the RealSense camera see the distance between objects and split them into background layers and 3D data.

Front-facing RealSense cameras that can capture gestures more accurately for video conferencing and gaming. Dell's newly launched 8-inch tablet already supported it.
