AUO demonstrated diverse technologies yesterday, in addition to the quantum dot technology, but also ALCD technology, the ultra-high-resolution integration, curved display, and ultra-high dynamic contrast (HDR) technology.

AUO said quantum dot technology has wider color gamut than tranditional wide color gamut technology, significantly increasing color saturation of panel, strengthen color performance and improve the picture level, to perfect image quality.

The products equipped with quantum dot technology, including 85-inch and 75-inch curved UHD 4K LCD TV panels, will go mass production in the second half of this year.

As for the ALCD technology, which is used in a 65-inch LCD TV panels, can raise curvature rate to 3000R, optimize the curvature of panel to create best surrounding vision experience. Additionally, AUO will launch 35-inch curved desktop monitor panels with curvature rate of 2000R and 21: 9 aspect ratio.

In term of the mobile phone panels, AUO said that the display screen of phone will continue to take high-resolution. Traditionally the Low Temperature Polysilicon(LTPS) panels are used in high-end products, now mid-end and low-end products are start to use. AUO pointed that its LTPS panel will combine embedded touch panel (in cell), and is going to available in the second quarter this year, for high-end phone market.
