Tong Zi-xian has not revealed how many employees Pegatron hopes to hire in their Chinese factories. However, analysts believe that Pegatron will first hire over ten thousand employees, so when the time comes, Pegatron will have over ten thousand employees on their Mainland Chinese production lines.

In addition, Pegatron at its stockholders’ meeting on June 15 stated that this year they will continue to integrate internal resources and develop information and consumer electronics products. They will also develop new client bases and continue to present wearable and gaming products as well as all types of consumer electronics products.

Tong Zi-xian believes that last year the electronics industry relied too heavily on the computer industry; moreover, the gross output of the computer industry was less that US$100 billion. At present there are many business opportunities for all kinds of applications, including smart handheld devices, gaming products, and consumer electronics products, with an output value totaling over US$400 billion to US$500 billion.
