R848 is the lowest cost BOM of COMBO System silicon tuner. The COMBO chip can support Analog/Digital TV signal and Satellite system reception including: NTSC, PAL, SECAM, DVB-T, ATSC, DVB-C, DMB-T, ISDB-T, CMMB, DVB-S, DVB-S2, ISDB-S, and ABS-S.

Traditionally TV and set-top boxes manufacturers designed COMBO (satellite and terrestrial TV) System products by using two independent tuners. This results in a significant increase in complexity, considerations include: Isolation, BOM cost reduction, Procurement, Design complexity.

"R848 reduces design complexity and system cost, global market demand of COMBO System will grow rapidly, the R848 will become a very successful product. " General Manger Marshall Lee said.
