The newsly SSDs line will use Intel Optane technology, which is based on the revolutionary 3D XPoint non-volatile memory media and combined with the company's advanced system memory controller, interface hardware and software IP.
The new class of memory technology will also power a new line of Intel DIMMs designed for Intel's next-generation data center platforms.
3D XPoint is a 3D NAND technology which is co-designed by Micron Technology and Intel. This new 3D NAND technology stacks layers of data storage cells vertically to create storage devices with three times higher capacity than competing NAND technologies. This enables more storage in a smaller space, bringing cost savings, low power usage, and high performance.
