Foxconn Sets up R&D Team For 5G Technology

TAIPEI, Taiwan - Foxconn said yesterday that the company has teamed up 200 experts to research in 5G. The team started from 5G basic technology and then extend steadily to construct patent and products, such as Femtocell, RRH and C-RAN. Year 2018 will be crucial for this move.

Lu Fang Min, deputy general manager of Foxconn, gave a news interview yesterday after attending “Cross-strait forum on the information industries and technology standards" .

He said that Foxconn has built up a 5G R&D team, having 200 experts from North Europe, USA, Taiwan and China research center, which have spent long time on the deployment of RRH and will still be in progress. Now they are active to construct basic technology R&D, meanwhile striving for the patent application.
