Hot Selling iPhone 6s Drives Taiwanese OEM Revenues to New Heights

TAIPEI, Taiwan -The iPhone 6s is a hot seller, selling over 13 million units globally during the first week, and revenues for the two largest OEMs in Taiwan,Foxconn and Pegatron, hit a new high for September.

Foxconn’s total sales in September amounted to 460.903 billion yuan, which was up 57.3% from August and a 10.95% increase over the same time last year, reaching a new high for September during a calendar year.

Foxconn stated that compared to last month consumer electronics performed best, and computing and communications products also grew from last month.

Foxconn's total accumulated revenue from the past nine months has reached 3 trillion 52.95 billion yuan, a yearly increase of 1253%.

Pegatron is the second largest assembly plant for the iPhone 6s, second only to Hon Hai. Pegatron’s September revenue amounted to 166.08 billion yuan, which is a 119.2% increase from last month and a 55.2% increase from last year. They have also broken last year’s single-month sales record of 120.03 billion yuan.

In addition, other iPhone supply chain manufacturers in Taiwan, such as TPK and Catcher Technology, also experienced extremely strong revenues in September.
