Taiwanese PCB Industry Considering Expanding Production in Response to New RFPCB Demand

TAIPEI, Taiwan - The market demand for rigid flexible printed circuit boards (RFPCB) is gradually increasing, and major Taiwanese suppliers, such as Compeq Manufacturing Co., Ltd., Unimicron Technology Corporation, Zhen Ding Technology, and Unitech, have all assessed increases in capital expenditures in order to increase production capacity and seize market opportunities.

Currently, Zhen Ding Technology, Compeq, and Unitech continue to maintain high capital expenditures for investment, and Unimicron has increased their capital expenditure this year to a budget reaching NT$7.858 billion.

On the other hand, some of the new Apple smart phones will utilize OLEM panels; however, Taiwanese manufacturers currently still mainly produce RFPCB for non-OLED models. Therefore, Singapore is investing in specializing in RFPCB OLED models.
