Taipei-based, government-backed IT research institute MIC (Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute) conducted an online survey on online shoppers aged 13-51 and above living in Indonesia, Vietnam, and the Philippines during the fourth quarter of 2017, and 350 effective questionnaires were collected from each country.

"The findings suggest notebook and desktop PCs are the most popular shopping means for consumers in Vietnam, followed by the Philippines, while Indonesian consumers have significantly less interest in PC shopping. Although mobile shopping using smartphones and tablets is the most popular in Indonesia, the results show it is almost equally popular in the other two countries as well," says Rosa Chang, senior industry analyst at MIC.

"The results also suggest that Lazada is the most popular shopping website across three countries. When it comes to major media channel where consumers obtain their product information from, Facebook has the highest usage rate in the Philippines and Vietnam, while TV commercial is the most popular media channel in Indonesia."
