The IDTP9024, IDTP9025A, and IDTP9028 are fully-integrated, single-chip wireless power receivers supporting PMA, WPC Qi 1.1, and dual mode (PMA and Qi) standards, respectively. The devices utilize a high-efficiency low-dropout regulator (LDO)-based architecture to minimize component count, resulting in significant savings in board area and bill-of-materials (BOM) cost.

In addition, optimized control logic minimizes power losses to ensure highly-efficient power delivery to the load. The space- and cost-optimized wireless power receivers are ideal for wireless handsets, cell phone sleeves, and tablets.

“We’re excited to expand our industry-leading wireless power portfolio with products optimized for ultra-compact portable applications,” said Arman Naghavi, vice president and general manager of the Analog and Power Division at IDT.

“Built on IDT’s award-winning wireless power platform, this new family of receivers offers customers an upgrade path to the latest Qi and PMA standards with the confidence afforded by a proven technology.”

All three wireless power receivers integrate a high-efficiency synchronous full bridge rectifier, high-efficiency LDO, and advanced control circuits in a single-chip. These functions work together with a thin receiver coil to wirelessly receive power from a compatible transmitter and provide a well-regulated 5 V output for powering and charging portable electronics.

The IDTP9024 and IDTP9025A enable the development of portable devices that are fully compatible with any PMA- or Qi-compliant transmitter, respectively. For maximum versatility, the IDTP9028 offers seamless dual-mode capability, switching between the Qi and PMA protocols and negotiating the power exchange without user intervention. The high-level of integration greatly simplifies the system architecture, enabling designers to complete their designs with minimal effort, while proven standards compliance ensures a user-friendly experience.
