Compared with the BS84xxxC MCUs, these new devices provide a higher range of system resources in addition to a large current LED driver circuit which can drive white LEDs. These features combine to ensure the devices are suitable for use in applications which require display functions, touch key functions, temperature or other analog signal measurements and temperature control functions. Applicable products could be rice cookers, high speed blenders, soybean milk machines, electric pressure cookers, electric pots, heater tables and other related products.

These new devices have excellent noisy immunity, allowing them to resist various types of noise interference such as power noise, RF interference, power fluctuations, etc. All the devices have passed the conductive susceptibility dynamic 10V test. The series devices have a program memory capacity of up to 16K words, an operating voltage of 2.2V~5.5V and support 8, 12 and 16 touch keys respectively.

The devices also provide a 4-level optional LVR voltage range of 2.1V ~ 3.8V, an 8-level optional LVD voltage range of 2.0V ~ 4.0V, an 8-channel A/D converter, a 10-bit Compact Timer Module, one or two 10-bit Periodic Timer Modules for PWM output generation and an external LXT oscillator option as well as UART and I2C communication interfaces. The devices are supplied in 24-pin SOP/SSOP, 28-pin SOP/SSOP and 44-pin LQFP package types.

The devices are suitable for use as master MCUs, which when used together with a suitable power board can implement product applications. Holtek also fully supports the device series with a comprehensive suite of hardware and software development tools. The supporting software includes a touch key function library which enables designers to develop their products more rapidly. The hardware development tool is known as the e-Link which works together with an OCDS evaluation MCU to provide users with an actual MCU device with which emulation and debug can be implemented, thus reducing significantly the development to market time.
