Tencent Find Taiwan Cooperator to Develop “Stay at Home Economic”

(Taipei, Taiwan) Annual major festival for global game industry-Game Developers Conference (GDC) –was held on Thursday in Taipei , in which many big companies joined such as Blizzard、BANDAI NAMCO、Tencent、DeNA, Sony, Unity and Ubisoft. Moreover, Monkey Hou, Vice General Manager of open platform department, Tencent, participated in this event and released information that Tencent is willing to looking for Taiwanese business partner.

Currently, Tecent provides two giant social networking server, which is called QQ and Wechat, the latter has more than 0.3 billion clients and served have had the experience of serving 0.17 billion online player simultaneously. Tecent occupy 50% maker share of China’s social networking platform and application market.

Tecent, has entered into game industry primarily for serving game client since 2005, predicts to share agency service revenue, amount to NT$ 15 billion, for their agent this year. As for the cooperation plan, it aims at NetDragon Websoft, LEGEND Entertainment, IGS and Daewoo Information System to strive for business opportunity of “Stay at Home Economic”.

Monkey Hou, Vice General Manager of open platform and myapp department, said that the gaming industry cooperation between China and Taiwan has been implemented for a long time but the reason for Taiwan companies’ failure to broaden this market is unfamiliar with Chinese player needs, which could be solved through local operation platform and therefore succeed to enter into Chinese gaming market.

At present, Tencent has cooperated with XPEC Entertainment, Taiwan’s game developer, by way of providing Tencent‘s open platform and XPEC ‘s game separately and share the revenue each other under the contract.
