Jason Chen came from sales and marketing , has served Intel as vice president , director of global marketing and sales group , then he joined in TSMC as Marketing vice president. He is TSMC chairman Morris Chang’s right-hand man .

Jason Chen will start his work on January 1 next year , the industry is quite optimistic about Jason Chen to lead Acer.

Acer chairman Stan Shih has proposed three requirements of the successor, said the new CEO should be on the industry, to be recognized Acer's cloud development, and not the people inside the Acer.

So, Stan Shih ecruited talent from TSMC, despite he still one of Independent Director of TSMC.

After Chen take office , will face three challenges, thinking how to break the old PC concept ,to accelerate the integration of hardware and software , to motivate the morale of the employee as soon as possible.
