Taiwan 4G Rush for Operating in The Third Quarter This Year

TAIPEI , Taiwan - Taiwan's National Communications Commission (NCC) said on Wednesday , Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan Mobile , Far EasTone , Taiwan star has proposed their construction plan, is expected to be issued deployment license within three weeks. Taiwan 4G may start service in the third quarter of this year.

Taiwan's 4G bidding ended in October last year , the first phase of business plan were submitted by operators at the same time , but the NCC completed the review of these proposal after Chinese New Year.

NCC officials said , is expected to be issued the permission of 4G Construction to operators for setting up 4G system within three weeks, operators can import equipment for developing base stations and core equipment based on the permission. After the erection is completed, operators must pass the system review process and propose tariff to NCC, as well as business regulations and 4G service contracts. After the completion of these three inspection operations, the Official 4G operating license will be issued.

But right now the construction of the base station is behind, the Taipei City Government and the National Police Agency(NPA) have agreed to open some office space for construction team of operators to install the 4G system.

There are six thousand sites of the NPA, including police stations and local offices, and other units of Taipei City Government will offer some assistance, it will help telecom company to accelerate the deployment of base station.
