TAIPEI, Taiwan — At the opening of CeBIT 2014, QNAP Systems, Inc. has partnered with Seagate Technology to roll out a new series of Turbo NAS and storage expansion solutions with its new QTS 4.1 NAS operating system, VioStor NVR firmware QVR 5.0, and more. QTS 4.1, the Turbo NAS operating system, provides an easy-to-use interface that greatly simplifies operation & management tasks and features a wide range of apps to enrich home & business use. QTS 4.1 provides home users with Music Station, Photo Station, and Video Station for enjoying multimedia on wide range of devices, and business users have comprehensive solutions for storage, backup and virtualization.

QTS 4.1 introduces new features including Notes Station, Signage Station, SAMBA v4 support, Real-Time Remote Replication (allows 2-way data sync between two Turbo NAS units & supports FTP root-path), enhanced NetBak Replicator backup for Windows, vSphere Plug-in v1.3, and McAfee Antivirus. The new Virtualization Station enhances virtualization tasks, allowing for a Turbo NAS to be a virtualization server hosting multiple VMs & applications.

QNAP also unveiled its top-class business Turbo NAS, the TS-ECx80U series, available in 8, 12, 16, and 24-bay, delivering unparalleled 4,000+ MB/s throughput and 580,000+ IOPS, and the medium-class TS-470U-RP that supports 4 LAN ports to provide up to 400MB/s read/write performance.

New storage expansion solutions, including a high-end SAS-enabled tower expansion enclosure and economical expansion enclosures for SOHO/SMB, were introduced to provide more options for Turbo NAS users. “QNAP's new storage expansion solutions will save IT administrators from having to invest big at initial setup,” said Jason Hsu, Product Manager of QNAP. “The new economical expansion enclosures provide more budget-friendly options for small businesses, increasing their flexibility in allocating IT budgets.”

Seagate's NAS hard drives were used throughout QNAP's booth to showcase reliable NAS solutions. “QNAP's reliable NAS solutions satisfy business and home user's needs in file storage and backup, and are compatible with Seagate NAS HDD, HDD Surveillance, Terascale and Enterprise Capacity to deliver high storage capacity and performance," said Henk van den Berg, Director Sales North and Central Europe of Seagate Technology. “With our extensive portfolio we empower our customers and partners with innovative and reliable solutions for any scope of application. We are proud to see QNAP trust in our solutions once again.”

QNAP also demonstrated its cloud backup options with Windows Azure, Amazon Glacier, enhanced Amazon S3 support, and WebDAV-supported cloud storage for users to enjoy more flexibility in backing up Turbo NAS data. The new industrial NAS IS-400 Pro represented QNAP's dedication to satisfying diverse user requirements.

The availability of QTS 4.1 official version, the TS-ECx80U series, TS-470U-RP, new SAS-enabled tower expansion enclosure, economical expansion enclosures, QVR 5.0 and QSCM Lite will be announced separately.
