TSIA Q4 2013 and Year 2013 Statistics on Taiwan IC Industry

According to WSTS, Q4 2013 worldwide semiconductor revenue reached US$79.9 billion, a year-to-year growth of 7.7% and down 0.8% on-quarter. Sales quantity reached 180.1 billion ICs, an 8.7% increase on-year and down 2.7% on-quarter. ASP was US$0.444, a 0.9% decline on-year and up 2.0% on-quarter.

2013 worldwide semiconductor revenue totaled US$305.6 billion, a year-to-year increase of 4.8%. Sales quantity reached 705.5 billion ICs, up 4.9% on-year. ASP was US$0.433, down 0.1% on-year.

Semiconductor revenue in the US reached US$17.4 billion in Q4 2013, a 17.3% rise on-year and up 4.5% on-quarter. Revenue in Japan reached US$8.8 billion, an 8.2% drop on-year and down 7.0% on-quarter. Revenue in Europe reached US$8.9 billion, a 12.7% increase on-year and down 0.9% on-quarter. Revenue in Asia reached US$44.9 billion, a 7.1% increase on-year and down 1.4% on-quarter.

2013 semiconductor revenue in the US totaled US$61.5 billion, a 13.1% increase on-year. 2013 Revenue in Japan totaled US$34.8 billion, a 15.2% decline on-year. Revenue in Europe totaled US$34.9 billion, a 5.2% increase on-year. Revenue in Asia totaled US$174.4 billion, up 7.0% on-year.

The TSIA survey showed that Q4 2013 Taiwan IC revenue as a whole (including design, manufacturing, packaging and testing) totaled NT$490.3 billion(US$16.5B) (down 3.4% on-quarter and up 18.1% on-year), with NT$129.2B in design(US$4.3B) (0.1% rise on-quarter and up 20.2% on-year), NT$255.1B in manufacturing (US$8.6B) (5.6% decrease on-quarter and up 23.7% on-year), NT$73.5B in packaging (US$2.5B) (down 2.0% on-quarter and up 5.0% on-year), and NT$32.5B in testing(US$1.1B) (2.1% decline on-quarter and 3.8% rise on-year). Exchange rate NTD/USD is 29.8.

Taiwan IC revenue in 2013 reached NT$1,888.6B (US$63.4B) (15.6% increase from 2012), with NT$481.1B in design (US$16.2B) (up 16.9%), NT$996.5B in manufacturing (US$33.5B) (20.2% growth, foundry NT$759.2B (US$25.5B), up 17.1% , DRAM NT$237.3B (US$8.0B), up 31.2%), NT$284.4B in packaging (US$9.5B) (4.6% rise), and NT$126.6B in testing (US$4.2B) (up 4.2%).

The ITRI-IEK estimated that Taiwan IC revenue in 2014 will reach NT$2,098.1B (US$70.4B) (11.1% increase from 2013), with NT$542.5B in design (US$18.2B) (up 12.8%), NT$1,111.0B in manufacturing (US$37.3B) (11.5% growth), NT$307.8B in packaging (US$10.3B) (8.2% rise), and NT$136.8B in testing (US$4.6B) (up 8.1%). Exchange rate NTD/USD is 29.8.
