ShowTaiwan is mainly a high-performance geospatial mapping platform with abundant geospatial information and data process technology developed by Data Communications Business Group of CHT focused on creating cutting-edge platform to allow people to see, interact and experience the real Taiwan in new, exciting ways.
It is recognized as the largest 3D geospatial mapping platform service provider around Taiwan. Furthermore, the company aims to launch a 3D cloud platform establishment project adopting a three-stage development strategy to facilitate the development of the three-dimensional geospatial mapping platform and also cultivate 3D digitizing technology talents in 2014.
The first stage of the three-stage development strategy adopted in establishing 3D navigation platform is to construct 3D campus navigation platform and now full view of 30 local campuses are released at http://showtaiwan.hinet.net and available for the public users.
Moreover, CHT outreaches its applications to scenic spots, local architectures, for example, temples, churches and any kind of constructions around this island without limiting its platform to merely demonstrate campus architectures in the second stage.
Eventually, the add-on services, like information and communication technology service (ICT), intelligent energy network service (iEN) and Hinet Ucam service, are employed to make 3D navigation platform more comprehensive in the last stage.
The telecommunication Training Institute of CHT offers a series of free training courses to teach users the 3D architecture construction technique which can be applied to diversified areas, geographic information system (GIS), 3D games, industrial design, building information modeling (BIM) and 3D printing.
The project aims at constructing 100 3D campus navigation platforms by 2015 and expects to extend the platform to all campuses in Taiwan by 2017. However, the company expects to employ the technique to all surroundings in our life to realized 3D life circle. For more information, please visit us at http://showtaiwan.hinet.net/ent/
