TAIPEI, Taiwan- Acer chairman Stan Shih said in a press conference yesterday that he would resign the chairman of the board at the June 18, transfer to Chief Architect of Acer BYOC; new chairman will be announced on Thursday on Board of Directors.

For avoiding Acer from continuing losses, Stan Shih re-served as chairman last year. After six months, Acer's transformation has positive results, gradually to turn loss into gain, thus he decided to resign from the position of chairman, and put all his efforts to develop Acer’s cloud business.
As to CEO Jason Chen who was been recruited from TSMC last year, Shih given high expectations, but he believes that Jason Chen needs at least three years to have enough experience to take over the chairman; primary goal now is to make good use of the Acer brand value and international organizations, led the reconstruction of Acer.
