IEK manager Peng mao - Jung said that the volume of semi-conductor, a necessary components of wearable device, will reach 3.77 billion in 2018, but also the volume of other non-semiconductors such as batteries, displays, camera modules, institutions, accessories and assembly are preliminary estimated to be 9.63 billion dollars, which will be the crucial market for electronics Industry.

The mode of entering to wearable device market for Taiwan’s manufactures is cooperation between hardware factory and paired-end plant, following the way used by component manufactures, whose principal companies are chips, batteries and displays plants, and assembly plant.

Moreover, all kinds of sensor, embedded flash memory, MEMS and optical sensing element are the important elements as well as transmission technology such as Bluetooth and WIFI. Besides, Taiwan’s packaging plants should research and develop high-end technology such as systematic package to satisfy the condition of wearable device.

Peng added that the broaden application of wearable device products lets not only giant company produce medium and high-level consumer products but SME have chance to serve niche market with special and industrial goods. And many Taiwanese companies has joined the supply chain of wearable device.
