TAIPEI, Taiwan-According to Taiwan’s media, HTC, who unveils at present a serious of smartphone including high-, medium- and small-level products in India, will strengthen its product promotion further in India because of the expectation of India’s growing potentiality and looks forward to be the 3rd biggest smartphone maker in India.

Chang Chia-lin, chief financial officer of HTC, said that the ratio of high-level smartphone’s usage in India is merely 6% and among them the two market share of smartphone’s price, between 10,000 to 20,000 rupees and bellow 10,000 rupees, amounted to 70% and 20% of all smartphone’s market respectively. Due to the high acceptability of design for HTC smartphone in India, the HTC ‘s share of the India’s market share is accounted for 4%~5%.

On the basis of existing brand, HTC hopes to expand increasingly its share of India’s smartphone market to be the top 3 supplier after announcing the new products on the 2nd half of the year especially.

Besides HTC, other big companies such as Motorola and Samsung are striving to boost their market share in India by introducing new products one after another.
