TSMC forecasts that the smarter phones with higher- efficiency and more smart application will attract more customers, while the popularity of entry-level smartphone in emerging market is a new growth engine for smartphone market.

TSMC is also optimistic for the tablet market, whose CARG forecast will reach 16% with the deeper penetration of tablet in emerging market and more application in various fields such as POS, education and pharmaceutics, to become the strong growth momentum for the semiconductor and foundry industry.

As well, the new-generation video game console and booming wearable device will be the prospective growth momentum for consumer electronics among which wearable device market will perform a trend of jumping growth for the coming years.
