PHISON Electronics' eMMC TLC Control Chipset Gets 1M Orders in July

TAIPEI, Taiwan — PHISON Electronics rolled out new product eMMC TLC (Triple Level Cell) control chipset, and received 1 million units orders in July. Pan Jian-cheng, Chairperson at PHISON, said that the supply of NAND Flash remained tight in Q3, waiting iPhone 6, Chinese phone brands, and NB firms to release new products, the demand will be higher and higher.

Pan Jian-cheng is optimistic toward the Q3 performance. He said that the shipment of their eMMC control chipset kept rising, and new product eMMC TLC control chipset officially put into mass production last month, and already received 1 million units orders in July. “6 million units are our goal.” Pan added.
Pan stated out that the expense of R&D in this year will be around NT$1.7 billion to NT$1.8 billion dollars with the view that their SSD (Solid State Disk) control chipset will make a good business in the market.
SSD products are entering a peak time in this year, PHISON , Toshiba, and Kingston teamed up to penetrate the market. Moreover, it is said that PHISON is going to give their employees a 10 percent raise.
