Zhou Yu-jun, Chief Technology Officer at MediaTek, said that before the end of this year they will penetrate into the 20nm manufacture, especially in the layout of advanced manufacture process will be no distance with major competitor Qualcomm.

MediaTek demonstrated 64-bit product positioning, for example, MT6795 is designed for high-end products, MT6752 is suitable for the mainstream, MT6732 is perfectly for entry-level products. Handset that carried MT6795 will be released by the end of this year, earlier on season than the market's expectations.

Zhou Yu-jun pointed out at the first generation 28nm period, MediaTek fell behind of Qualcomm two years, but in the second generation 28nm the distance has shorten to half year. By the end of this year MediaTek penetrated into the 20nm manufacture process, and has no distance with Qualcomm.

Qualcomm announced earlier that they will enhance 64-bit mid-tier products, MediaTek released the 64-bit high-end products to outshine Qualcomm. Source said that Apple has already developed 64-bit products, ARM will put it into mass production in 2016. As the 64-bit era is coming, which means that the calculating ability of mobile device has no difference with PC.
