Acer Rush to Become Top 5 Smartphone Brand in Taiwan

Acer held its new 4G smartphone "Liquid X1" launching conference in Taiwan on Wednesday. The Liquid X1 is OEM by Pegatron, weight 164 g, known as "lightest" of the 5.7 inch 4G smartphone, with a 13-megapixel digital camera, and build-in Acer BYOC personal cloud services.

In addition, Acer Liquid x1 is first Taiwanese smartphone equiped with MediaTek MT6592 chip, which is a octa-core processor with 1.7GHz speed, plus with 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM.

Jason Chen, CEO of Acer, said that Acer smartphone has already entered top three sales in Tailand and Belgium, total number of sales market have increased from three nations of 2012 to twelve nations of 2013, and thirty one nations at now, beyond the schedule set for 2014 to reach twenty five nations.

Analysts said smartphone sales of Acer this year expected to exceed 5 million units, in average of 170,000 units of each country.
