iPhone 6, Debuting September 9

TAIPEI, Taiwan — Apple has sent the iPhone 6 press conference invitations to media, informing that it will be shown on September 9 in America along with iWatch. However, according to source and supply chain due to the screen quality, the shipment of iPhone 6 will be downgraded to 13.5 million to 14 million units in the quarter three, and it will doubled to 56 million units in the quarter four in terms of shipment.

Supply chain leaked that because of the production issues of screens back light module and attaching, the shipment of 4.7-inch iPhone 6 will be downgraded from 16 million units to 13.5 million units.

When talking about the special display material Sapphire crystal, which is currently used for small iPhone elements like the camera lens and the home button of the iPhone 5s, has historically been prohibitively expensive to produce in larger quantities, but Apple has recently partnered with GT Advanced to ramp up sapphire production.
Current iPhones use Low Temperature Poly Silicon (LTPS) technology, and Apple is likely to continue using that technology for the iPhone 6.
