Huang Chong-ren said that 20 or so of the worldwide Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) firms have been merged into the current 3 major groups in past 20 years. “Fortunately, Powerchip Technology has survived, transforming from DRAM developer into the foundry firm. IoT, connected car, Biotechnology, and smart finance are also our next big things in a bid to be relisted in 2016.”

Huang Chong-ren is deeply convinced that IoT will be the major growth driver of semiconductor industry, in other words, the prospect is promising with the view that the Internet speed up. Take the smartphone bandwidth into account, from 3G to 4G era that realizes everything goes online.

Furthermore, Huang Chong-ren unfolded his opinion with an example, referring to wearables are light as to the components on it, needless to say the storage is also not too big. “Lately, we have been asked to manufacture a 32M DRAM unit, and every 12-inch wafer can produce 50 thousand units of it. These things that international big firms won't do, are chances of Powerchip Technology.”
