The roadmap of Intel IoT Platform is to integrate hardware and software products ranging from edge devices, the cloud, API management and service creation software, edge-to-cloud connectivity and analytics, intelligent gateways, and a full line of scalable IA processors.
Furthermore, Intel teamed up with seven ODM firms in developing the gateways, five Taiwanese firms are as follows: Advantech, ECS, Gigabyte Technology, Aaeon Technology, Avalue Technology, and Quanta Computer, as well as Intel is going to hold a IoT seminar with Chunghua Telecom later this week. According to Intel, there will be 13 systems released in the first quarter of 2015.
The newest Intel IoT Gateway integrates the Wind River Edge Management System via an available agent so gateways can be rapidly deployed, provisioned and managed throughout the life cycle of a system to reduce costs and time to market.
Nevertheless, the gateway covers performance improvements, lower cost memory options and a broader selection of available communication options are supported.
In addition to Taiwanese firms, Accenture, Booz Allen Hamilton, Capgemini, Dell, HCL, NTT DATA, SAP, Tata Consultancy, Wipro and others are joining together with Intel to develop and deploy solutions using their building blocks on the Intel IoT Platform, which will provide a repeatable foundation for IoT and free up developers time to focus on building solutions for specific customer needs.
