MediaTek named Semiconductor Company of the Year at 2014 GSA Awards

TAIPEI, Taiwan — MediaTek was named “Outstanding Asia Pacific Semiconductor Company Award” for the third consecutive year (and for the fourth time in total) at the 20th annual Global Semiconductor Alliance (GSA) Awards Dinner. Voted by industry peers, the company was recognized as the leader in the semiconductor industry, demonstrating excellence through products, vision, strategy, execution, and future initiatives.

The company also received nominations in two other categories, namely, “Best Financially Managed Semiconductor Company Award” and “Most Respected Public Semiconductor Company Award”.
Besides, many new wristband or smartphone products are powered by MediaTek's chipsets. Asus' Pegasus X002 is a coming soon smartphone that is dual SIM enabled and supports 4G TD-LTE networks with a 1.5GHz quad core 64-bit MediaTek processor, and a 2500mAh battery onboard.
The AngelCare900, a smartwatch product from Guidecare has been released on December 24 with new functions such as ECG, HRV, and the heart attack risk indicator, which is powered by MediaTek 6572, a dual core processor.
