IEK named the 2015 as "Smart Ready, IOT GO!." Su Meng-zong IEK director, said the information economy era will come, the cloud, 3D printing and IoT are going to be the main driving force to every domains of industry, which can bring more added value.
IEK pointed that under the diversify of IoT applications, the value chain of ICT industry will be revised in 2015. The information service, integrated solutions, mergers and acquisitions, software-defined technology (SDx) and commercial wearable devices will rise. In addition, wear devices, smart cars, smart home, mobile payment applications will bring new demands for components industry.
Ji Zhao-Yin, IEK electronic group leader, said that the supply chain adjustment will be an important issue for Taiwan industry. IoT is going to change the traditional supply chain model, the heightly vertical integration solutions will be more and more, results the single technology vendor to face competitive challenges. Terminal devices also requires the use of cloud resources, and integration of back-end applications, to meet the mall vertical markets of IoT.
Meanwhile, the small and diverse IoT market will to form the start-up economy. Ji Zhao-Yin pointed out that the integrated solutions will create customer-driven economic, start-up companies will use these highly integrated solutions to reduce development time and cost.
At the same time, it will also bring new service business such as design services, rapid prototyping services, start-up services, fund-raising platform, small OEM.
