Type-C to Be the Growth Driver of Etron for Five Years

XINZHU, Taiwan — Taiwan Semiconductor Industry Association (TSIA) 2015 is held in Xinzhu on April 21, Nicky Lu, TSIA’s CEO invented a term “TaiSemiWood” in a bid to encourage Taiwan cultivating more and more manpower for ICT industry. He optimistically predict that it will increase by four to five percent of IC industry in Taiwan in 2015, and as Chairman of Etron Technology he claimed that the Type-C will be the company’s growth driver from now.

“We had been through so many hardships. Finally, the Type-C is going to be the new standard of all the devices.” Nicky Lu bursted out laughing by making these remarks. On the other hand, he suggested that the Type-C will be the growth driver of the company for five years from now.
Besides, Nicky Lu reviewed that according to IEK of ITRI the profit of IC industry in Taiwan increased 16.7 percent year-over-year in 2014, as well as he optimistically predict that it will increase by four to five percent in 2015.
Nicky Lu was elected as the CEO of TSIA in succession, he said that the innovative products play an important role in the industry, referring to the so-called “TaiSemiWood” (Taiwan Semiconductor Hollywood). “Combining imagination with practice power to roll out new products and OEM/ODM continuingly.”
