Currently North American and European countries such as The United States, England, Estonia, and Australia have gradually incorporated programming into their basic national education, and today's students are no strangers to writing programming.

Changhua County is also currently promoting programming education throughout the county, and currently nearly one hundred teachers at eighty middle and elementary schools are participating in an hour-long “Hour of Code” educational training program. Furthermore, they are also engaged in a transnational online exchange program with C&MA Sun Kei Primary School (SKPS) in Hong Kong.

Changhua County Magistrate Wei Ming-ku commented, “Programming design is one of the future trends in global development, and the central government is already planning on incorporating programming design into the 2018 national education curriculum. Changhua County Government is pleased to take the lead in announcing hour-long 'Hour of Code' programming events which will enable young students in Changhua to take part in programming training at an early age.”

In 2013 Microsoft Taiwan began to gradually promote programming education along with New Taipei City Government, Taipei City Government, and American Innovation Center (AIC). This year in cooperation with Changhua County government Microsoft will jointly design the “Cloud Technology Education Program” for middle and elementary school students.

Dr. Daiana Beitler, Microsoft Philanthropies Lead, Asia stated, “With the rapid global development of computer technology education and programming design, we are providing an interesting and lively learning platform to enable children students to gain exposure to programming from an early age. This will enable young students to develop creative and logical thinking through the process of learning programming.”

“Hour of Code” is a programming activity initiated by the non-profit organization code.org which utilizes lively and interesting methods to allow students to become familiar with basic programming design through programming games.
