E Ink explained that their independently-developed Print-Color ePaper is a new color electronic paper technology for manufacturing and production. Utilizing this new color printing technology in conjunction with electronic paper displays facilitates more rapid and responsive features, and similar to black and white e-paper, reading content on it for long periods of time will not lead to eye damage. Moreover, it is thinner and lighter than previous glass color filter electronic paper while simultaneously having higher optical quality.
According to E Ink, Print-Color ePaper is suitable for reading, education, and professional use applications; furthermore, it can be utilized for e-reader or e-paper notebook applications. E Ink is currently planning to collaborate with other partners in the ecosystem to create eye-friendly, green and energy-saving digital education applications which are non-damaging to readers’ eyes as well as green and energy-saving in order to further optimize students' learning experience and teachers’ educational experience.
E Ink acting Chairman Johnson Lee stated that the company’s printed color electronic paper and advanced color electronic paper are both independently developed and manufactured. E Ink’s next move will be to work with upstream and downstream ecosystem partners in order to launch color electronic paper application products as soon as possible.
In addition, Advanced Color ePaper (AceP) is a high-quality and fully-reflective color e-paper display previously released by E Ink, which can be integrated into a wide variety of scenarios in accordance with different ambient light sources, and it can be employed to achieve a full color gamut of display effects through the use of colored particles.
This kind of colored e-paper can be utilized to display paintings and newspaper-like paper textures with ultra-low power consumption; furthermore, it continues to display after the power has been turned off. Therefore, it is suitable for use in retail scenarios, to serve as colorful electronic shelf labels and promotional displays to show real-time product prices and promotional information.
