Global Notebook PC Shipment Volume, 2020-2026
Taiwan`s government-backed research institute MIC (Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute) announces at 2022 MIC Spring Forum held online that global notebook PC shipment volume will record approximately 220 million units in 2022, 178 million of which will be contributed by Taiwanese makers. The improved sales of notebook PCs due to the stay-at-home trend has been largely offset by the Russia-Ukraine war and lockdowns in China during 2022. Therefore, global notebook PC shipment volume is estimated to decline by 10.3% year-on-year in 2022.

"Global economic deflation and recession fears have also led to the falling consumer confidence levels and further dampened growth in the notebook PC market this year," said Edward Lin, industry consultant with MIC.
Lin also pointed out that the product mix of Taiwanese makers has played a key role in affecting their global share in 2022. Those who have an upper hand on the market are those who place more focus on commercial and gaming PCs.
