TAIPEI, Taiwan - Taiwan Machine Tool & Accessories Builders' Association (TMBA) yesterday updated the latest development of the industrial universal specification. The organization hopes to add value to the industry and expand its key influence by drafting the specification.

Hsu Wen-xian, chairman of TMBA, pointed out that the machinery industry faced a shortage of raw material and manpower which postponed partial orders to ship in the first half of this year. However, the growth of this year was not as steady as in 2019~2021.
Even though the cumulative export value in the first seven months of this year was 1.735 billion US dollars, an increase of 16% over the same period last year, the orders received by Taiwan's machine tool factories have generally declined recently.
He also took a conservative attitude in the second half of this year and revised his original projection of over 20% growth in the machinery industry to around 10%~15%.
