While big disasters such as earthquakes and typhoons happen, the communication network or police micro-wave communication system of the area could be shut down by the power outage, and affect the actions of resources management and operations from government and rescure units. With the digital resilient communication system, that is rapidly integrated by the 5G O-RAN private network and the mobile satellites, the agile communication system can enhance the capacity of disaster relief on the front line.
Since 2020, Pegatron aggressively develops 5G vertical integration to explore diverse application fields.
Liao Ci-zheng, Global Vice President of Pegatron, said, "Pegatron has been developing 5G technology in multiple application fields such as smart factory, transportation, and disaster relief in recent years. It is a great honor to cooperate with Microsoft, Wave-In Communication and Hsinchu City Fire Bureau. The implementation of the first mobile 5G enterprise mobile private network is a big step forward towards the goal of the domestic ORAN 5G private network system, and provides new forms of high-value communication solutions for enterprises and the overall industry.”
Bian Zh-Xiang, General Manager of Microsoft Taiwan, said: “The combination of 5G and satellite technology is the core of global digital resilience development. It’s also the key to driving the communication network to open a new chapter. The enterprise-class 5G private network built by Azure Space service this time provides excellent protection of router path and information security. It forms a 3D digital resilience solution to help front-line staff to enforce their abilities in terms of disaster prevention and rescue and decision-making.”
He said that Microsoft, together with industry partners, will leverage Taiwan's strong strength in the integration of information and communications software and hardware industries, use the Microsoft cloud platform to expand the ecosystem, and empower local strong technology and innovation energy. It will continue to strengthen the digital resilience of Taiwan's industries, and co-build a new era of communications.
