Cheng Wen Wu, director of ITRI said that wireless multicast streaming technology can meet the need of 4G mobile video , It base on software without any special hardware changed , even in fast moving , like high-speed rail, it can also push content to everyone successfully .

Wu noted , another issue in 4G era is bandwidth allocation , ITRI wireless multicast streaming technology can overcome this problem by using the multi-point transmission theory , can work effective efficiently in bandwidth allocation , improve the bandwidth efficiency.

For example, using 6 to 10 units such as mobile phone or tablet device to watch video programs online under the bandwidth at 1 ~ 1.5mbps in the time, will occur noise and lag problem ,but wireless multicast streaming technology can support 12 mobile devices simultaneously, maintain smooth and clear video quality.

Wireless multicast streaming technology can overcome obstacles of bandwidth and quality in the same time, save bandwidth to transmit more audio and video programs. It can also be combined with OTT(Over the top) services and real-time interactive technology to create new application services, like digital home, online learning.
