The front bezel of MRS-801-RE has an IP65 rating to make it dust-tight and waterproof. It features a programmable LED light bar at the top front side, which the user can control to show green or red light with applications under an Android or Linux operating system. Moreover, MRS-801-RE supports the popular Android 4.3 operating system and Linux system with Kernel 3.0 or above. Customers can contact Ibase with regard to the operating system they need.

The MRS-801-RE also uses 5-wire resistive touch screen technology which has a significant advantage over 4-wire technology. Unlike 4-wire touch screens, positional measurement accuracy of 5-wire touch screens is not affected by damage to the top sheet of the screen that can be caused by long term use or inadvertent damage. This is because the positional location of a press is taken on the bottom glass substrate, while the top layer acts only as a voltage measuring probe.

Unlike consumer ARM-based products, MRS-801-RE supports a wide-range operating temperature, from 0°C to 50°C and can be stored under -20°C to 60°C. As for the power input, not only does it support 12VDC, it also has a PoE+ (power on Ethernet) feature.

Standard to the MRS-801 is a 4-wire RS-232 and RS-485 interface at the edge I/O. And it is quite simple to adjust to RS-232 or RS-485 mode via an external DIP switch. A USB 2.0, Gigabit Ethernet and an OTG USB port are available.

With the above-mentioned features, MRS-801-RE can be easily applied to manufacturing control, building automation, door-sign and other applications.
