The superior electrical characteristics of the device make it extremely suitable for audio amplification applications in consumer products which contain a Line-Out socket, some of which might include Language Learning Recorders, Electronic Dictionaries, Voice Output Toys, to name but a few.

The amplifier has an integrated silence function to completely eliminate the irritating “pop” sounds that can be produced during amplifier power on/off switching. The amplifier output driver can directly drive speakers, allowing significant savings in both external component count and cost and increasing the versatility of its application range. The device comes in an 8-pin SOP package illustrating its suitability for portable electronic product applications.

Presently Holtek provides three audio power amplifier devices with different output power specifications. One is the above described HT82V73A with an output power level of 1.5W, another is the HT82V739, with an output power level of 1.2W, and the other is the HT82V733 with an output level of 0.4W. All these devices are fully pin-compatible allowing the designer to choose the most suitable device according to their different audio power requirements.
