Solutions based on Intel IoT Gateway Technology will be pre-integrated and pre-validated with Wind River Intelligent Device Platform (IDP) XT 3.1 operating system, enhanced security with McAfee Embedded Control security technologies and granted cloud connectivity through the Wind RiverHelix Device Cloud agent. With these tools, solutions are expected to helps users save resources on data transmission, storage, and analysis through greater scalability, sustainability, and security.

Among the abovementioned tools, the Wind River HelixDevice Cloud agent not only allows solutions access to the cloud for storage, operations such as device configuration, data capture, and rule-based data analysis and response are also possible for quicker integration of disparate enterprise IT systems within an IoT environment.

Security is supported in part by McAfee Embedded Control* security technologies. By integrating hardware-based security of Intel processors with operating system and application software security, data is protected both in transit and at rest.

Lastly, with the introduction of built-in features for securing communication channels, data, and end devices, MQTT for data transportation, native support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, ZigBee, and other short-range IoT wireless and wired protocols, and remote management of gateway devices within the Wind River Intelligent Device Platform (IDP) XT 3.1 operating system, developing, integrating, and deploying IoT gateways is never easier.

AAEON’s dedicated IoT product line, which is inclusive of the AIOT-X1000 3.5” Subcompact Board, the AIOT-QM, AIOT-QA, AIOT-QG, and AIOT-DRM IoT gateways, is slated to receive the abovementioned upgrades by June 2016.

“The Intel IoT Gateway Technology combines the new developer focused enhancements of the Wind River Intelligent Device Platform with the security of McAfee Embedded Control and the scalable performance of Intel processors, enabling AAEON to quickly deliver secure, intelligent edge solutions to address the needs of IoT.” said Rose Schooler, vice president, IoT Strategy at Intel.
