Ubitus Inc., announced the collaboration with China Unicom to successfully demonstrate the first 4K cloud game streaming service in the world in an event held by China Unicom in Jinan, Shandong on March 23.
As a strategic partner with China Unicom, Ubitus was invited to demonstrate in the event the latest cloud game-streaming technology ushering 4K resolution quality with 4K gaming experience on China Unicom's STB.
In early February 2016, Ubitus and China Unicom announced the collaboration to launch cloud game streaming service through Unicom's IPTV set-top-boxes and the service has been made available to Unicom's IPTV subscribers in selective provinces and cities.
With the demonstration of 4K cloud game-streaming in China Unicom's event on March 23, 2016, IPTV subscribers would surly have some things new to hope for. In short years, as we can anticipate, they will be able to enjoy a nearly console-level 4K gaming experience through their household set-top-boxes without the need to purchase high-end equipment, consoles, or other gaming devices.
Cloud game-streaming would continue to offer the promising benefits to the end users and service providers alike with a reduced hardware cost for quality gaming experience, seamless gameplay cross-over various devices, readily integrating and interworking with smart devices and TVs, and instantly playing, sharing, and communicating in the game sessions with social media functionalities as players, spectators, or commentators.
