瀏覽次數:1743

TAIPEI, Taiwan - Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and Autonomous Mobile Robot Alliance announced officially the AMR industrial technology standard: “AMRA-220 Mobile Robot - Safety Requirements, Verification and Validation”. The new standard specifically defines the fundamental safety requirements and hopes to form universal specifications by standardization to make sure the safety of both human-robot cooperation and products and applications of AMR.

AMRA promotion convenor and assistant manager of ITRI Hu Zhu-sheng said, after many times of discussions and planning the AMRA Safety Standard has been released under high anticipation. He noted that the applications of AMR are diverse and have different functions. However, safety is an essential requirement for each implemented scenario.

The AMRA-220 is based on universal international safety integrated with components, systems, and the applicational experience of AMR. It took fourteen months and over forty meetings written by AMRA members. The standard specifically lists basic safety requirements of AMR design, including methods of danger reduction, verification, and confirmation, which can help manufacturers to design safer productions. It can also become a reference while users evaluating the safety of AMR products.

The chairman of the working group of AMRA-220 is Duan Long-hui, the director of Wistron, who led industry experts from AUO, Axiomtek, Castec, Cils, Delta, DFI, ITRI, KANEKA, Motion tech, Pepperl+Fuchs, TAC Dynamics jointly developed.

AMR industry technical standards provide manufacturers with followable safety standards. Once authorized by the Autonomous Mobile Robot Alliance, their products can be declared to comply with the AMRA-220 standard; users can also ask the manufacturers to provide a verification report of the standard when purchasing, to ensure the AMR has the necessary safety.
