TAIPEI, Taiwan — Intel held the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) 2015 at Shenzhen on April 8, the company launched the next-generation chip code-named Skylake processor that integrated wireless charging, as well as supported its latest operating system (OS) Win 10 and facial recognition. Intel forecast that the year-over-year growth rate of China server market will grow 16 percent.
Intel eyes on weearables and Internet of Things (IoT), announced that it will team up with Foxconn, Seed, DFFRobot, etc. in a bid to promote the IoT chip code-named Edison in different kinds of applications. For instance, detecting and monitoring the power consumption and air-pollution.
“The device which was shown on stage at the Intel Developer Forum was a prototype that was created in collaboration with a Chinese firm, whom we are not naming,” said a Spokeswoman for the company.
“The device is meant to show the different types of apps, usage models and form factors that RealSense tech can be integrated into and to encourage innovation.” the Spokeswoman added.
According to Intel, the RealSense features facial recognition that allowed PC, Tablet, and smartphones users to unlock their screens without entering the password.
