TAIPEI, Taiwan－Epistar and Formosa Epitaxy (Forepi) announced jointly on Monday that Epistar would acquire Forepi via a share swap based on a ratio of 3.448 to have entire (100%) holdings in Forepi and Epistar will stay at the top 3 LED chipmaker.

Rider Chang, Epistar Vice President , said that the demand for LED lighting is soaring and this acquisition, through broadening advantages of patent and achieving technical complementarities, will expect to make benefit in one year.
