TAIPEI,Taiwan- According to Taiwan media reports, United Microelectronics Corporation (UMC) is speeding up its expansion of 8-inch production capacities. Its Mainland China, Suzhou, Hejian factory will next year expand its monthly production capacity from the current 50,000 chips to 60,000 chips in order to satisfy the demand for parts and components brought about by wearable devices and the Internet of Things.
