TAIPEI, Taiwan — VIA Technologies, Inc. announced that VIA Telecom has reached a definitive agreement to sell part of its assets to an undisclosed buyer. Assuming satisfactory customary closing conditions, the company anticipates that the transaction will be completed by the end of the third quarter.

Meanwhile, Momentum behind Android is growing in the embedded market according to the results of a recent worldwide survey conducted by VIA Embedded. The survey drew close to 250 respondents from a wide range of embedded backgrounds asking them to share their views of Android for embedded applications including the perceived benefits and challenges which come along with adopting the OS.
