Global PC System Shipment Decline to Soften in 2016
By MIC
Published: Sep 21,2015
Of the total global IT systems, desktop PC and server will be the only two sectors to witness year-on-year shipment growth in 2016, according to MIC (Market Intelligence & Consulting Institute), a government-backed ICT research institute in Taiwan.
"Despite so, notebook PC and tablet shipment declines will slow down, owing to Intel's new CPU rollout and vendors' aggressive move to pave into gaming and educational markets," says Charles Chou, Deputy Director of MIC's IT & Electronics Industry Research Center, at MIC's annual forum held in Taipei from September 11 to 24. "Therefore, we reckon the significant decline facing the global PC market in 2015 will be able to alleviate in 2016."
