“The shipment of 2-in-1 PC in 2014 is around 8 million. In a bid to lower the impact from big screen smartphone and low-priced notebook, there are more and more firms planned in launching 2-in-1 PC in 2015. We predict that the 2-in-1 PC market will increase 62.5 percent, the shipment is at best to reach 13 million.” said Evelyn Zhang.
“Based on the performance of the brand name 2-in-1 PC makers, ASUS is no doubt the best. The wide ranges of T series 2-in-1 PC with competitive price tags, allured the market with its low price offer and various products choice.” Evelyn Zhang added.

“Meanwhile, comparing to traditional Tablet, the hardware specs of 2-in-1 PC is more high-end driven with bigger display so that the average price is higher. It does good in increasing the market revenue.” Evelyn Zhang said.
When asked about the components of 2-in-1 PC, Evelyn Zhang suggested that the assembly is similar to notbook, and positioning of which is for the high-end business market that leads to the importance of stabiliy. “Taiwanese supply chain is more competitive than that of in China in manufacturing 2-in-1 PC, whereas Chinese supply chain made more Tablets.”
Nevertheless, due to the design of bearings is complicated and acquired many patents, Taiwanese firms do well in this field.
William Liang, former Senior Director at innovation Digital System Business Group (iDSBG) System Software Division Operating System Department of Hon Hai Technology, expressed that viewing from the hardware aspect, 2-in-1 PC is a a good design and good choice for users, but the future falls on whether it is to integrat PC’s keyboard and mouse along with Tablet’s touch panel, smoothly.
