Ennoconn Invests in German Industrial Computer Company Kontron’s Subsidiary

TAIPEI, Taiwan - Taiwanese industrial computer manufacturer ennoconn announced that they will purchase 49% equity in KCI, which is the German industrial computer company Kontron’s Canadian subsidiary. ennoconn will take one director’s seat at KCI, and with this strategic alliance with Kontron, they will collaborate on comprehensive research and development of design and manufacturing services.

ennononn is held by the Hon Hai Group and is an important investment for the Hon Hai Group to branch out into the industrial computer market. ennoconn is actively developing industrial automation and the Industry 4.0 market, and they are expanding their global industrial computer OEM and ODM businesses.
ennoconn CEO Shu Fu-quan stated that during the first stage of the collaboration with Kontron this year, approximately NT$ 1.5-2 billion worth of OEM orders will be transferred from Kontron to ennoconn. Next year, they will continue the transfers, and finally other than a small amount of highly confidential products, everything will be manufactured by ennoconn.
As a result, ennoconn is expanding their production capacity at the Kunshan Factory in Mainland China and recruiting large numbers of new employees globally in order to cope with their doubling business volume.
